I have an opprotunity to become an independant agent under Farmers. I see that Allstate hs better advertising and seems to be more competitive? Does anyone have luck in either?

Hi CaliKarl,
Both Allstate and Farmers would fall amongst the worst. There are complaints regarding their low balling and claim denials. In comparison, State farm and Nationwide would operate in a better way. If you'd work as an independent agent, you'd have more work and your prospective consumers would have more options to choose from.

Why don't you take a look at one of our old discussion? I think the following would help you in deciding.

Hi Karl, amongst the two that you have mentioned Allstate would prefer to have captive agents over independents. But you would own the book of business too, which is not possible with State Farm.
Just a suggestion, don't get lured by the advertisements but study the market competition & the terms and conditions of becoming agent with them before joining.
