I just hired an assistant

Hello,
This question is for those that have an assistant (maybe a dumb question).
I just hired a part time assistant to do my paperwork and to make cold calls.
What would you say would be the best way to utilize them?

Hi Teacher,

That's analyzing and suggesting coverage which requires a license.

Would this require a license across all states?
What could be the penalties if someone suggests this without a license?

I guess that's an underwriter's job. Can an agent obtain such a license to suggest coverage?

Hi..I can empathize with your CSRs' views regarding higher compensation, advancement etc. But, what has it got to do with getting licensed?

Don't you think it's difficult to earn a good recognition till you're licensed?

Hi,

Of course it's always better to have a licensed assistant, but you have to pay them more!

If an employer thinks like that right from the very beginning then I guess it would be difficult for him to succeed in the long run. A good fixed pay package signifies job security and it's the first thing every employee wants to achieve. As an employer if you're offering an incentive-based pay, it's easier for you to replace a successful performer who's going through a 'bad patch'. But that's not a solution.
In case I've mistaken, do let me know your views!

I guess what he meant to say is if people are truly satisfied from within, they won't look for other opportunities to switch over.
Thus, if there is no need to switch, then there would be no urge to get a license too. Steven
