Welcome to the business BILAL!

I have found that the best kind of contact or lead, is from a referral. And as long as you do the right thing and take good care of your clients, they will almost always refer their family and friends to you. It is a slow process at first, except for those few very, popular; very outgoing; and very fortunate individuals that seem to just have people knocking down their door to buy insurance. Never-the-less, if you stick with it, you will see your client base increase steadly over time. Good luck!

Are you employed by an agency or brokerage or are you acting as an independent contractor?

You ask about building a team, which suggests you are on your own. But just starting out I don't think "building a team" should be a concern of yours. Unless I misunderstand what you mean by that. No one is going to work for your for free and if you're just starting out you don't have any money to pay your "team".

What you need to do is build a book of business.

It's easier said than done but, if you are willing to work hard you just need to start with this small comunity in your city. Talk to everyone you know about the needs they may have for your products, ask everyone you talk to if they know someone else who is in need of life insurance advice. Soon you will be making conections.

Many agents find it helpful to join local business networking associations and clubs such as rotary which give you a chance to befriend other business people in your area. Once you have friends with influence over other's (their clients/customers) these friends become helpful in promoting you and your services around town.

That's it in a nutshell, just do everything you can to make yourself visible to the community and make sure they know that you are the "life insurance man" to go to when they need advice or services.

It's a good sign that you are truly interested in helping people through financial products as most people can tell the diference between a salesman who just after their money and someone who has a true desire to help them.

Good luck my friend, our industry needs as many like you as we can get.

hi..

how to build a team ; create and maintain a good business relationships

Well these are truly easier said than done...but if you have the will to succeed in life you can always find a way out. Building a good team indicates a good screening of the people (tracking down their ares of interests as well as their areas of opportunities) at the time of assigning jobs...once you have formed a team, then the most important task for you would be to interact with all your team-mates & identify their proficiencies as well as the problems they are encountering. Getting things resolved at the first go would be better then keeping them for good.

Now, coming to your second question, I'd rather feel better if you could keep your business relations nourished from time to time. See, even wishing your partners upon their birthday or say wishing them upon the foundation-day of their business could yield good results towards strengthening the bond. Some people would choose to send their partners business newsletters aiming to get them updated about the recent business happenings at their end. See, these are some of the tried-n-tested practices.

If you don't have many contacts in your area I'd encourage you go out and meet the people whom you would like to form business relationships with.

Depending upon the products you sell you have a variety of methods are your disposal to maximize your time and energy.

Leads clubs, professoinal organizations, volunteering, trade shows, etc. are all ways you can employ to get your name out in the community as a trusted consultant.
