I read through these posts and am very interested in this field. I never would've thought so but it is VERY intriguing. How does one go about becoming an agent? I mean I have a real estate license (I had school) is it the same type of deal with insurance agents. Or is 4 years required. ETC.

Thanks

We have had many conversations on this topic and here are just a couple:

http://www.ampminsure.org/insuranceagents/agent-conduct.html

If you will go to the "Discussion Archive" on the right side, under "Resource Desk", you can search for many articles which may help you.

We really need all of these previous discussions arranged under "Topics", so they won't be so hard to find (at least for me).

Hi!
Feel free to browse through the entries on my ampminsure blog I am currently setting up to help people wanting to get information on how to get started in health insurance. You might find some useful information there also. :D
Also please let me know if you do find it helpful.

I will pass along a piece of wisdom a friend of mine gave me some time ago . . .

"People looking for "luck" never do what it takes to achieve success and always seem disappointed at what life has dealt them. People looking to be "blessed" will do whatever it takes, never focusing on the price, but rather, keeping their eye disciplined in their actions and work with faith that they will win."

Now, I'm not sure that my friend is the original composer of this, but it's still good advice.

Hi maze,

Very good quote you have there. Thank you very much for sharing. Great idea maze. It is simply amazing. :)

Isn't it funny how the harder you work at something the better "luck" you seem to have?

I don't think it is "luck". I think it is what we call "blessings"

I don't think that real estate license will do...

You will be needing other license as applicable in your areas...

And I can assure you friend that his job is very rewarding and you can gain lots and lots of experience in very short time but this is onl possible if you are serious and enthusiastic about your job...

And in few years, you can become an independent agent and run your own firm or company...

Best of Luck

What other license are you talking over here!
Are you suggesting about the state insurance exams??
