Does anyone with background issues ever dealt the the California Department of Insurance Background Bureau? I have been waiting for more than 2 months for my license to be approved or denied...
How long does this type of thing take... do I have a chance of approval with a "past"?

Do I have to report when criminal charges are filed against me?
Yes, when the filing of felony criminal charges occurs. You must report any felony charges filed against you by a County or State District Attorney or United States Attorney within 30 days of the felony charges being filed. The criminal complaint or indictment issued will identify the charges and crimes you are accused of committing. (You do not have to report misdemeanor charges being filed against you, but you must report any misdemeanor once it results in a conviction).
This is what i found for you.It can also be found out at

I think you may get sufficient answers to your queries over there. Personally i haven't came across such type of situation. So i won't recommend you to just wait and watch. but the official site of the California department of insurance has already defined the laws pertaining to the different cases. You will get plenty of knowledge on the above link in FAQ section.

What kind of background issues are you pointing to? How long have you been asked to wait while you were applying for the same?
