If you're looking just to send mail, will one of your carriers not help with that? Many of mine have marketing departments that will help create a customized mail piece for you using their logo and target within zip codes based on your criteria. There is no charge for lists and you get their cost on the mailer!

They do not provide the potential clients. That is something I have to do myself. :(

I don't know that I'd call having them carrier send out a mail piece as providing prospects. After all, I'd still have to pay for printing and posting. They just provide the service of putting it together. Are you with a captive company or independent?

One thing I have found that works for me with HO insurance is Zillow.com. I can pick a street and see each address on that street. I can find out how much the house sold for. Then I cross reference against the county's assessor's page for specific information about the home. I prepare a quote for the home and send that along with a couple of brochures, a hand-written note and my business card.
I also include in the note what kind of discount they would receive if we insure their autos.
I cross reference my company's data base first to make sure none of the homes are already covered. I then follow up with another note a couple weeks later asking them to give me a call if they ever what a comparison on their insurance.
