I have spent most of this year looking for a Broker/Dealer to transfer to. I have an approximately 10 yrs. experience in the Insurance & Securities Industry; and have not really thought about going some place else. However, changes in my current B/D and the industry made me look intensively into my career.
This community seems to be a good place to network and find the right B/D. So if anyone has any information on the criteria that I'm looking for, would you please be so kind to respond?
What I'm looking for are:
1) Multi-tier compensation system.
2) Full array of products (from Insurance product: Term, UL, VUL, EIUL to Mutual Funds, VA...)
3) Ability to sponsor RIAs
4) Inexpensive E&O (abt or lower $100)
5) Great website and software (at no or minimum cost to agent)
6) Ability to pay advances, with no maximum limits, based upon target amount.
7) Commissions paid directly by home office not by the product provider.
8) Very low (abt 5K) minimum production requirements, so new downlines can work themselves up at their own pace.
9) Great back office support.
It has been very difficult for me to find that B/D with all the requirements above. Or perhaps, I just have not looked nor networked with the right group like this community. There's got to be a few out there with the criteria above.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you for viewing this thread. I'm just kinda desperate and have spent a lot of time searching.
Desperately yours,

There is a b/d that has min 5k production quota, I got a postcard from them on recruiting and it had on there a lady in her bathrobe, also part time in the ad.
Unfortunately I threw it away. But keep looking it's out there.

Hello Looking Guy,
I personally like the Allianz Life Insurance Company. Get your GA's position with them and start your own agency.

I know this conversation was posted almost two years ago, but it always comes up when I query "Broker Dealer Low Production Requirements" so I wanted to add a note because I've finally found one. Foresters Equity Services has two contracts; one has annual production requirements at about $1,000 GDC and the other is around $10,000. They're also very insurance friendly. forestersequity .com or the recruiter's phone # is (800) 350-9885 x4854.

as a general rule, what can a broker expect to earn when starting out in the insurance field in the US? I take it there a base+commision package is the norm?

Well, then you need to mention what kinda changes they're making. See, if you can tell us your objectives in this regard too. Probably then, someone might come up with a good suggestion for you.
