What is the best website for leads? I've tried out salesgenie, and netquote and didn't get any results. Does anyone have a company that they swear by?

I have used quoteauction and they are ok. I think unless you buy exclusive leads they are pretty much all the same.

I generate my own leads on my websites so I rarely buy leads. I've gotten free leads from Norvax as part of my bonus from Aetna. I've also received Norvax leads Golden Rule. Their leads are decent. I've also purchased leads from ileads.com. This was several years ago. The lead quality was excellent. However, the quantity wasn't enough to sustain me.

Alston, this may be a dumb question but how are you generating leads from your website?
I understand that by getting them there you would get a lead but what are you finding the best way to get them to your site and how much does it cost you each month in marketing?

I think Alston presents quotes in his site, which the consumer can use as a ready reckoner while shopping around. This is a great source of generating fresh leads.

Lisar, a professionally maintained website can generate good amount of businesses for the agents. The website will give you ample scope to advertise the products at your convenience. You can place quotes or a comparative study of different products in your site, which might help the consumers in deciding the right option.

Or else, can simply highlight the services that you offer and leave a contact number for the visitors to get in touch with you. An online registration form can also help in this regard, this way you are generating an authentic database.

Well, you are required to do some marketing for the site as well. The success of the website depends upon its prominence in the web world, higher its ranking, higher will be its visitors and therefore the number of leads. However, if you maintain a good quality site it'll gain visibility and trust with time as well.

You may initially have to spend a lump-sum amount to set up the site, but the cost will even out gradually. Many websites now-a-days offer quotes online to attract viewers and later on sell these leads to agents. You can also get into such arrangements if you want to avoid the task of managing a site.

The leads generated by the lead generating companies often fail to qualify as exclusive leads. The lead generating companies don't succeed in generating enough leads to satisfy their clients' demands. Hence, they distribute only a handful of leads amongst their clientele, therefore, the leads get shared between several agents. The best way to get secured leads is by generating it yourself. References from the existing clients can generate exclusive lead base upon which the agent can trust.

However, before availing the services of the lead generators, you may wish to check their position in the market or, you may end up paying huge money for junk leads.

Here are the methods of generating leads

  • Cold calling- it's the most traditional way of doing business. You can do it through direct mails or telephone calls. You can also take the help of the professional callers to do the calling on your behalf

  • Advertisement in the local newspapers and TV channels- this is another effective way of doing business. Expanding business is all about creating awareness amongst the consumers. You have to work towards creating a brand name. An advertisement can give you the required exposure.

  • Organizing seminars or putting up stalls- this can help in spreading awareness along with generating leads for the agent.

  • Buying an old book of business- sometimes it may pay buying an old book of business from another agent. You can approach to the existing clients with better products.

  • Buying leads from online lead generating companies- this is another way of getting leads, but since this business is booming many companies are sprouting in this domain everyday. Hence, you need to do a background check on their business policies before putting your money in it.
