Hi everyone

I have an interest in online insurance statistics for a project I am working on. I would welcome any help if some body could give me the following information or point me in the right direction:

1. Number of private car Insurance policies sold in the UK last year online
2. Number of insurance policies quoted last year in the UK online
3. Amount of lost business by failed attempts to use website i,e aborted
4. What the expected growth is for online insurance quotes and sales
5. Satisfaction survey data from online insurance users.
6. What Market share do aggregators i.e confused and moneysupermarket.com have of the sales of insurance products/services

and any other stats you may find relevant to online insurance and the sales.

Thanks Smile

I don't know but money supermarket dominates a lot of the search terms I go after doing SEO here in the US and all of their products are geared to the UK.

Well, interviewing an agent may help you in getting the information you are looking for. I think the records are maintained by the insurance companies personally, therefore won't be available on internet in a consolidated from. Also I think it'd take some time to the record keeping agencies to gather all the documents and publish their report.

I think approaching the insurance companies personally would be the answer to this problem.

Hi onlineinsure,

3. Amount of lost business by failed attempts to use website i,e aborted

Now, how do you define lost business online? Do you calculate it as a conversion ratio between the volume of traffic coming into your site and those who're opting for your services?
