If you are afraid that your prospects find the statement such as, "If you die yesterday" is offensive, how do you describe death in other manners?

Lori,
why use "God firbid.........". I usually say "IF" and then make a short pause then procede with the words "When your family needs...... this policy, procedes" etc. When its life insurance It WILL be needed/used. Heck even if its auto insurance one day they WILL go through a road block and need proof if insurance.
Theses days certain insurance WILL protect against a loss. Espicially if its life insurance, Tell your prospect you WILL die someday.

I use God forbid because I don't want someone to die.
Where telling someone they are going to eventually die is a direct way to word it - and if that is your style, then so be it - but...
Everyone knows they are going to die. If they are having the conversation with you in the first place, they are already thinking about the day they pass.

How about "if you forgot to wake up this morning"?

I really don't care for that one at all. It seems to be making a joke out of a very serious matter.
