I think the company which would provide training and assistant to the new agents to start-up with is the best company for the newbies.

The choice of the company would certainly affect the prospect of a new agent. If you wish to start as independent, you better do homework about the policies offered by the company, its strengths and weaknesses, claim handling, customer care etc.

Hi nobody,

Whats important is to note the settlement successes as well as the financial stability of your company for over a period of time. These two factors would help generate a healthy work environment for one and all.

You should get ample opportunities to learn and experience challenges. This would certainly help you to gain in terms of knowledge and develop a client network. These are all vital points to be considered in order to succeed in this dynamic insurance industry.

It also depends greatly upon what type of insurance you're interested in selling. Are you interested in the property and casualty side, or are you more interested in the life and health side? Are you already licensed...or are you just starting? There is a post on my blog about considering a career in insurance...check it out!
