Hello all,
I'm currently with Allstate on a paid salary the last 2 years. I'm thinking about leaving and going 100% commission base and I need some feedback on the split percentage I should look for. Will someone let me if this is a fair.
10% commission of the policy is split 70/30 between myself and the broker for all lines. Should I be asking for something different for personal and life?

It depends on a few things. I would ask 80/20 if you are 100% commissions. Will they be providing all the supplies, desk etc?

I'll be working out of my home office most of the time. There are no sub-agent benefit other than 6 months of local newspaper advertising. I've tried searching the forum for ideas on where to start and came up empty. Could you PM me what a typical commission schedule should look like for someone working in the field the last 6 years? Thank you.

Friends, I've heard that Allstate prefers captive agents over independent agents. Is this true? Just curious to know, does this allow it an edge over its competitors? I'm of the opinion that involvement of the independent agents can actually help in boosting the business faster. Restricting independent agents from enrolling inturn restricts the company from reaching out to many customers.
I'd like to hear the opinion of the seasoned agents in this regard.
