Good morning sarika !
I think you will have a very good chance of getting hired. I'll be honest with you the companies that I have worked for simply require a four year degree period,(without prior insurance experience). They don't even care really what that degree is in ! Seriously, I've seen many people hired with teaching degrees, phys.ed degrees, hospitality, etc.
There are many great sites including 'greatinsurancejobs.com' they have different sectors underwriting, adjusting etc. All major companies as well have job postings on their sites. That's how I got my last one (seven or eight years ago)...Good luck!

You have not specified you major. MBA in reputed institutions have a great value. If you had completed your management degree in finance or marketing then you have a great potential to serve in the insurance sector.

The trend changes as per market requirement. Like for example finance is well sought subject abroad but not in every country. If you see the past trend you will realize every year based on the placements and the sal pack you would realize that it never is the same. The trend varies.
Why dont you check mba fairs to get a good knowledge of the trend?
As far as best institutes are concerned that depends on various factors--
one suggestion though never goonthe ratings, but check which schools suit you and your requirements.
Believe me I have seen people, not from very well known schools, drawing a very good salary.
Good luck!!!

hi inu..
I would suggest you to go fo MIS......With a B.tech degree, do not ever think of doing MBA with HR as all your computer operating potential will be lost with span of time and you will be pushed towards marketing...
And sincerely, as I am also a computer engineer, I hate marketing job and will never consider marketing even on the cost of double salary.....
MIS is a very good option these days and it is booming and attracting lots of people....so go for it as soon as you can...
Because if you delay, there will be less chances for you to get a better paying job and high social status

MBA can also open their own venture with some classmate..
This is the new trend going on today and you can earn handsome profit if your firm holds on to the market
