Does Anyone Out There Really Want To Blog?

by Insurance Maze » Tue Dec 11, 2007 10:05 pm

I have learned just enough about blogging that I can be very dangerous.

Seriously, if any of you really want to start a blog, I may be able to help you.

How about some discussion?

All you really have to know in the beginning is how to type reasonably well.

I am discussing with Lakemen right now the possibility of creating a Guide section called "Insurance Blogging". This will take a lot of my time and I just want to make sure it will actually improve this insurance community.
Doesn't seem like many members are interested.

In the meantime, if you want to get started just PM me.

Blogging is very time consuming and requires alot of dedication to the material that you post, Lori you would be excellent at an insurance blog and it does not take a computer genius to do it, if you can type, you can blog.

Once you get your blog up and running make sure that you register it with search engines like technorati and many more that are out there, so it gets the exposure that it deserves, I am sure you will do an excellent job and I encourage you to at least give it a shot after the holidays of course, I know you have a full plate right now and blogging would just add stress that you don't need right now.

I understand it would be very time consuming. But I wouldlike to give it a try. If in future I really cant carry on with that, i will see. Would sure like to give it a shot. Though I must say that I enjoy interacting with people here.

I used to have a webpage along time ago, it has since dissapeared and I don't even think I have the password to get on and edit it anymore, I really don't have the time with four kids, three of them teenagers to get involved in blogging. I would just get frustrated with it and quit anyway, so no sense in me starting something that I am not gonna finish.

I would be interested in visiting you guys blogs if you decide to build them, please post them somewhere so that we know they are up and running, from what I read on this forum there are some really good writers who know alot about insurance, so yeeah, I would like to take a peak when your done, goodluck with this, hope it works out.

LOL@ the " I can be very dangerous." Thanks for the offer, Insurance Maze! I enjoy blogging and have a personal one.

I'd do it if you wanted one from a layman's point of view with anything I find interesting on different insurance related topics. If you prefer to keep the blogs in the realm of the professionals though, I understand completely. Obviously I'd make it clear that I wasn't one, just a geeky mom.

It's entirely up to you guys of course. I'm just offering as a way to contribute towards building up the site. :)

I'll await your answer on that before choosing a really impressive name you'll all wish you'd thought of...

btw, I noticed the blogs use WordPress. I'm pretty familiar with it if anyone needs a bit of guidance on how to use the dashboard or change settings and would be happy to help do that.

I'm no expert by any means, but would be pleased to offer anyone a hand with the basics on how to create or manage their posts etc until they get the hang of it if you want.

Just a small way for me to give back to the community. :)
