Let's Blog! Let's Grow! Let's Make Some Money!

by Insurance Maze » Tue Jan 08, 2008 03:56 pm

I see a lot of complaints about who makes what, wins what and when?

I enjoy participating in as many forums as I possibly can. Some of them I just don't have the knowledge to actively participate, so I leave them alone. I really see no point in making a post like - "Well, sorry Joe, I don't know much about this subject and hopefully someone will be along in just a few minutes to answer your question."

Man, what a waste of time and effort.

That post just made you about 20 cents! Don't get me wrong, these informative posts are critical to the success of this community, but spending the same amount of time on your blog would probably have made you 20 times that!

You can do both, I do.

If you start a blog, you will be absolutely amazed, I promise you. The best way to get this Insurance Community on Page #1 of Google is to add volumes of quality content, blogs do that!

Let's Dance, Put on your red shoes and dance the blues!!!!!! Let's swing, just kidding, that tune just popped right into my head.

I had a blog once, I never understood the google adsense and how to make the money off it. Can you give an example of how much you have made like in one month off google adsense please?

Hi goodnatured,

I will be glad to, but first it is very important to understand that I don't do any of this just for the money. The best way to learn is to teach. With the knowledge in this insurance commuity, we can all learn a lot!

Google Adsense is not too complicated, once your account is set up and we realize there are just some ads we can't display on these templates.

It is also important to place these ads in the "hottest" places on your blog page. We will get into all of that, but we must have somewhere to place the ads, so getting our blogs up and running takes top priority.

My Adsense account has exceeded my forum account more than three times.

I used to have a debt blog and just could never figure out that part. I am going to consider doing an insurance blog.

Your are not alone Lori, I went on google adsense and read up on it and as I understand it when people click on the ads on your blog, you earn revenue and this site earns revenue, and this site would earn money too, but my fear is that, I know how time consuming a good blog can be, been there, done that, I am just wondering if it is worth my time. so here are some questions for you also insurance maze that I could not find the answers for on goodle adsense.

1. Does google adsense send you ads that are lucrative? I don't want to put all that time in and only make like $2 a day.

2. Does the ads change as your information changes? Like on yours, you have about life insurance, they give ads for life insurances, but what if you changed the subject to homeowners, would the ads automatically change or do you have to alert google adsense of these changes?

3. Warning I am sure that I have more questions to come, will you have the answers, LOL.

OK, Lori, I'm sorry this was confusing.

The revenue from my Google Adsense account has been more than my revenue from making posts in the forums by over three times.

Hi goodnatured,
Once again, we are jumping the gun! Please don't spend your time trying to understand Google Adsense right now. You just cannot make one penny if you don't have pages to place the ads on.

But to get to some of your questions:

1. Does google adsense send you ads that are lucrative?

Now I don't understand, but there are "Conent Ads"; "Referral Ads"; and "Search Ads", all of which "pay" varying amounts.

2. Does the ads change as your information changes?

Yes.

Warning I am sure that I have more questions to come, will you have the answers, LOL.

I would just like all members to understand - There Is No Such Thing As A Dumb Question!
If we didn't ask questions, we couldn't learn.
One more thing about blogging or anything else actually - there is no such thing as an original idea! What could you actually think about that noone has ever thought about before??
As far as the answers, no, unfortunately I will not have ALL the answers about insurance or blogging, but I know where to find them.

OK, Lori, I'm sorry this was confusing.

No apology needed, or called for and am sure it wasn't confusing for most...just me! ha ha....thank you I understand 'that' part a little better....I'm gonna have a lot of questions...gotta run...but before i do....i'll leave a few more of them that i see answers for tonight or tomorrow morning...

"Conent Ads"; "Referral Ads"; and "Search Ads",

i think i know what ref. and search ads are, not so much content...and do you like get a list of different ads, and you pick which ones you will allow on your blog? and then do you get to 'put' them where you want them...when they change do you have the option of not allowing this? what i'm driving at is there might be certain ads or topics that i would not want associated anywhere near anything with my name on it...get my drift? would there be pop-ups on my blog that would annoy the crap out off people...do you get (again) to chose the number of ads etc?

more later...gotta go...these cows ain't a gonna milk themselves!

Lori, I just sent you a PM, but that's OK I found it now.

Sorry for the delay, but my cows needed milkin', too.

i think i know what ref. and search ads are, not so much content...and do you like get a list of different ads, and you pick which ones you will allow on your blog?

You can style the "Content" ads to the theme of your entire blog, say just "Auto Insurance Claims" or a particular page, like "What To Do After An Auto Accident". Google looks at your blog or page and decides what ads are best suited to a particular section of your blog.

and then do you get to 'put' them where you want them...when they change do you have the option of not allowing this?

Yes, you can place the ads where you want them on the page, within the limits of the blog template. On certain type ads you can reject certain content. Google is very picky about this.

what i'm driving at is there might be certain ads or topics that i would not want associated anywhere near anything with my name on it...get my drift?

I certainly do, this will not happen.

would there be pop-ups on my blog that would annoy the crap out off people...do you get (again) to chose the number of ads etc?

No pop-ups. There is a limit set my Google as to the number of the different type ads you can have on a page.

Ok, hope the cows got milked and your questions were answered satisfactorily. If not, copy and paste and send them back.

You may want to look at the blog again, I have finally put some Google Ads on some of the pages. You can get an idea of how they will work.

You will notice that the blog had several "Posts" and "Pages" before any ads were placed there. That's exactly what we want to do. You can get rejected by Google.

Thank you! ok, so how exactly is money generated? Do you (as the blogger) make money or credit when someone just looks at your blog, or when they click on an ad, or when they find your blog thru google? I dont' understand how (or why really) anyone makes any money...(never have really even this site I don't get how they make money)...sorry I'm not kidding at all when I say I just don't know much at all about computers...you may regret saying there are no dumb questions, my friend!

by the way didn't get done milkin' my cows till about seven last night! Hope you did better!:)
