Accurate Information

I know that I'm a bit jerky on this board. I just don't get why we have such a preponderance of threads with incorrect information. It used to be all foreigners posting things that may have been correct somewhere, but not here. Then, we had Gary who could never admit to being wrong. We then got Max who despite sounding like he has lots of knowledge really doesn't know what he doesn't know and now we have dpop or whatever his name is posting wrong stuff.

I'd really like to just let this board be, but it's harmful if incorrect information is going to be posted by insurance professionals.

Well "Guest" first off, why would anyone listen to critism, (or advise for that matter) from someone who won't even register ? And complete a profile that would allow readers to know what their qualifications are? Something to hide? What makes your information (or opinion) the be all and end all, and infallible?

I'm not saying that misinformation doesn't get dropped in a thread now and then, but the vast majority of the time, it is caught, addressed by experts, and corrected. Your claim that it is

such a preponderance of threads with incorrect information

Is also incorrect information! The definition of preponderance is the "majority", that could not be further from the truth...

While your posts are welcome here, if you stay within the terms of use.

The arrogancy of this statement

I'd really like to just let this board be, but it's harmful if incorrect information is going to be posted by insurance professionals.

Allows us to agree on at least one of your statements,

I know that I'm a bit jerky on this board

 (if you KNOW you're being a 'jerk' why would you CHOSE to continue to be a jerk? :? )

And I ask you again, what makes you the ONLY one that has the "correct" answers? hmmmmm?

I shouldn't be a jerk. I recognize that I do it often and thus I'm admitting to it.

I don't really care if people want to listen to me or not. I just care that correct information is posted.

I'm not the be all and end all. I am not the only one with correct information. However, I don't post things unless I know that I'm correct.

I may be wrong with my use of "preponderance", but I may not be. Almost every thread in which I post has incorrect information. Notice that people with knowledge like InsInvestigator and Insurance Teacher don't correct me. This is because I very rarely post anything that isn't correct and when I do, it very quickly gets corrected.

Hi Lori, good post. Those of us who are often paid a great deal of money to be right, greatly appreciate your input.

You're welcome Mark, and 'hi' to you too..

Oh come on!

I shouldn't be a jerk. I recognize that I do it often and thus I'm admitting to it.

This makes me crazy when people do this.. .what do you want a cookie? Admitting to bad behavior, then continueing this bad behavior, is not honorable, nor a character virtue. I'm a bottle blond too, I admit that freely, but have no inclination to change it...Now, admitting to something, apologizing for it, and STOPPING it..now we're getting somewhere...

Almost every thread in which I post has incorrect information

Since you have no screen name and are a 'guest' there is no way to check that statement, however, you're also getting credit for all the other intelligent (or NOT) 'guest' posts as well...

Look we all (with any sense anyway) want only accurate information on this site..and many of us have devoted a lot of our own time to help others.

I very rarely post anything that isn't correct and when I do, it very quickly gets corrected.

As do most of the 'regular' posters...once in a while a goof ball gets thru....that happens everywhere, I'd just ask that you think about those that have devoted alot of time and effort to making this a good site, (perhaps join that 'club' as well)...rather than make (what appeared to be ) arrogant statements...do you get what I'm saying?

And by the way didn't you just encourage dhop, to stay? (which ain't happenin')

dhop I hope that you choose to stay. Just post correct information and don't guess at answers.

then start a thread ranting about him/her/it? :?

Hi, Ya'll!!!!!! LORI.......I wonder if the 'GUEST' is the one that was giving me trouble, as well. As many times as the 'GUEST' is saying "inaccurate information", I'm beginning to think so. In just about all of his posts ('GUEST') he says "inaccurate information". he IS acting like a jerk.

I know, but we all make mistakes, and I'm hopefully that he'll/she'll think about it a little more now, (I hope so at least)

SDCharger, I am the same person. I'm not trying to hide. I do get insensitive at times and I apologize. I'll try to do better. If I screw up again and am insensitive, I will apologize again.

However, the accusations from you are uncalled for. As I have said, I have never attempted to contact you outside of this board and I never would. How would I even know your contact information? What could I possibly do with the information? My questions about your beneficiaries were from our past conversations in which we told you repeatedly that you could not name your friend as beneficiary if you wanted the money to belong to your son. I was questioning whether you ever made the proper changes. That's it.

Lori is correct. Bad behavior followed by an apology is not a virtue. Stopping it is what needs to be done. I admit that I simply have pretty strong issues with information that isn't completely correct and I need to do better with how I handle it.

Thank you 'guest'...now THAT showed character
