Did he pay a premium in February? When was his January premium due? When did he die? Was it a term policy or a permanent policy? If it was a permanent policy was there any cash in the policy and if so, was there an automatic premium loan feature?

My ex died Feb.6 , they havent sent me the policy yet so I can talk to the agent yet. His executor was his cousin and she said that she talked to the agent and that he said that the policy fell in a "gray area" I sent her the money to pay for the death certificate and she said she would mail all of the information . I don't yet have any more information.

Get the details. If he died February 6th, and the premium for January was paid and the due date was the 6th or later, he probably is within the grace period and covered.
