Hi my brother died in a horrible car accident on 1/1/13. He left
His mother as his beneficiary. The problem is he has a 7 month
Old baby girl and another one on the way. His mom has not given
Any indication that she will be setting aside any money for her or
The new baby. Is there anything that could be done for his children to
Get those benefits instead of his mom? Or at least a portion? He
Filled out the paper work to add his daughter but he didn't sign it. His
Mother lives in another country and she has already received a portion
Of the benefits.

NO.

He filled out the paper work to add his daughter but he didn't sign it.

Just another indication of irresponsibility. That's not the insurance company's fault.

No one but the named beneficiary receives the benefits. The only way-out is to discuss it out with the mom and expect her generosity.
