If an insurance company cancels a life insurance policy because underwriting should not have accepted the policy and all monies were refunded. BUT NO INTEREST. SHOULD INTEREST HAVE BEEN PAID on THE MONEY THEY HAD FOR 18 MONTHS?

Not unless stated in your contract. I have never seen a life insurance contract that does so.
