I’m a single woman living in Iowa. Now I’m 69. My health is still in good shape. The only companion that I have now is Casper - my adorable and loyal dog. I live in my own house that my husband left for me. I’ve enough money to carry out my and Casper’s living. Should I get a life insurance policy so that someone can pay for my funeral bills with that money? Or. it’ll be just an extravaganza!

Getting insured is good, considering that you are becoming old and have nobody to look after you. Although you are still in good shape, you may not know what may come next. For life is all about uncertainty and insurance is about obtaining some sort of security against that unknown emergency. So, may it be for your funeral bills or any other old age requirement, it is better to stay insured if you can afford it.

Why are you concerned about funeral bills when you're dead? You should be concerned about where you will be spending eternity instead.Although you are still in good shape, you may not know what may come next. For life is all about uncertainty
Such a philosopher! Life is hard and then you DIE. That's what comes next. The fundamental purpose of life insurance is to provide cash resources for those who one leaves behind and on whom those others were dependent. Apparently Casper is the only one dependent on Daisy and is otherwise set for the rest of his life.
If Daisy is concerned about the funeral she won't be able to attend, then all she needs to do is visit the funeral director who she wants to have bury her and prepay that expense. She does not need life insurance to do that.
It does not sound like Daisy has anyone, like children, who will be concerned about her after she dies. She writes "so someone can pay for my funeral bills". Who will come to put flowers on her grave? It certainly won't be Casper. That's a much sadder thing than thinking about dying and funeral bills.
