How to get life insurance when you are not a beneficiary?

My mother passed away on 12/22/11. She had CDs in total about $50,000, which she changed to life insurance ... not sure whose advice it was. In her will, she didn't add all the children .. only two. She just added the second sister to make sure it is divided equally. The lawyer stated he can't do anything for us. How do I get some the her life insurance?

You have to ask her to name you as one of the beneficiaries.

Oh, wait. Your mother died more than two years ago. I guess it will be kind of difficult to do that.

The only thing you can do is to go to the beneficiaries who received the money and plead your case.

Legally you can do nothing.

Here's another example of why you need to be selective in your responses.

Do you even think there is one cent left of the life insurance money after more than two years following the OP's mother's death?

Stick to responding to current matters.

This situation may be beneficial to others in the future who Google the same question. I don't care if this helps the person posting as much as I do the people searching years down the road. These forums have great page rank with Google an the questions pop up all over the internet. Look at the big picture Max not just your little world here.
