Probably too late. Look for "final expense" insurance . . . it's the only type you might be able to find. Most companies stop writing new applications at age 84 or 85.

I suggest to get term life insurance for people over 80. You can look for guaranteed accepted life insurance too.

Really? On what basis do you make that suggestion? Do you even comprehend the premiums for any form of insurance at age 80+?

Name companies that write term life insurance as new policies after age 80. Final expense insurance is almost exclusively whole life.
I don't know of any companies that write new policies after age 84. The OP specifically asked about insurance for an 88-year-old.

Hi Alaipene i acctually let you know that i totally disagree with "samanthahaugh" who asked you to go for term lif insurance for people over 80, because i have experienced last time i also face the trouble when i was in search of good company for getting life insurance for my over 80 year old grandfather. I searched on the internet and studied many reviews and finally reached the point that "whole life insurance is best for the pople over 80" actually term life insurance is for those who are younger than 50 and still have mortgages or other loans. So go for whole life insurance if your mother is over 80 years old as you said she is over 80 year old. You can also search on the internet for many companies providing life insurance for the people over 80 but i recommend to go for [link deleted per TOU] who provide Guaranteed life insurance for over 80 people. Hope my research and findings in this regard will help you and many other here.
