my mother just died on the28 0f febuary2014 and my brother is on her name is versie Wilson reed am searching to see if my daughter and I wil receive anything my brother Kenneth Thomas haven said we were or not the insurance company name is reliable life if any what will he receive . we on wanted to know if we on the policy.

Not alcohol nor drugs. Not religion (or lack thereof). Not sex, scandal, politics, bad jobs or seedy women rip a family apart faster than money.
I've seen fathers rob money from their children, brothers from sisters, mothers from daughters.
Wasn't it written in 1 Timothy 6:10:
9But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
There is a good chance your mother, God rest her soul, wanted only to be fair to her children and left you all some money to make your lives easier.
Kenneth Thompson may have seen an opportunity to cheat the rest of his family out of their rightful payment and all he had to do was lie about it.

If the life insurance proceeds were paid by the insurance company, but not paid according to the contract, then you may have a claim against the insurance company. If they were, then you probably have no claim == and if you did, it would most likely be against your brother.
