My grandmother had a life insurance policy on my uncle and her self and my step grandfather were named the first and secondary beneficiary's. My grandmother passed first. then two years later my uncle died. the insurance company never made an attempt to contact my step grandfather. a few years after that he passed away. now both beneficiary's are gone. now present day almost 4 years later my mom recieved a later form the insurance company stating that the money goes to the estate of my grandfather.who is his brother but is no actual blood relation to our family. My mom is the executor of my grandmothers estate. My uncle does have two children that he was never in touch with. who is entitled to the policy?

The estate of the beneficiary who was alive at the time of the insured's death is the rightful party to receive the policy proceeds today, as the same living individual would have been four years ago had he filed a claim. You can, of course, choose to fight that, but it will cost a lot of money and you will almost surely lose.
