The beneficary is the beneficary. Why does his mother hold the policy? You mean she's the owner? and (presumeably) She purchased the policy and makes the premium payments? If so she's most likely made herself the beneficary as well...if she is, and something happens to your husband, you're out. Unless she decides to share. Why don't you and your husband buy a policy yourself, making you the beneficary?

Mr. Vice President, what's your point? Clearly you 'think' or intend your post as a slam....... I'm not getting your point..

Apparently you know me in 'some' regard, but OBVIOUSLY not very well...... For ten years (solid) BEFORE I ran a body shop, I was a P&C claims adjuster...then AFTER I left the body shop I went to work for another insurer, and have been an adjuster with them for ten years...so I ask you again.....WHAT IS YOUR POINT?

Wait, wiat, wait! If the mother-in-law owns the policy, it makes a whole lot of sense for her to be the beneficiary. If she suddenly decided to name you the beneficiary and your husband died you'd have an annoying tax issue on your hands known as a goodman triangle: different owner, insured, and beneficiary. Makes the death benefity 100% taxable as ordinary income.

There are a few ways to deal with this.

- Buy a new policy as Lori has suggested

- Talk to your mother-in-law about your becoming the owner of the policy. You would then pay premiums and name yourself the beneficiary.

Your mother-in-law needs to have a contingent owner set up (not saying she would have done this when she started the policy, but rather I'm telling you that you NEED to have this conversation with her) so the policy ownership passes to someone in the event she predeceases your husband.

You've never sold a life policy in your life, but yet you think you can comment on it. It's like going to your doctor to see what is wrong with your car. You were a P&C claims adjuster. That means you dealt with claims for homes and cars. Have you ever even filled out a change of beneficiary form for life insurance?
I am not slamming you, I just think it is idiotic of you to make comments in the life insurance forum. Do you even have an insurance license? Another thing, are you going to try to ban me because I am voicing my opinion? I thought this was America "freedom of speach"
My point is, if someone asks how to replace a bumper then make your lips move, other than that comment on strings that you are certified to comment on. I see many times that you voice your opinion in these strings and just because you are a moderator you think you are right. I have seen several times that your comments are totally off base.

I'm not a chicken either, but I know what comes out the back end of one...

#1 Einstein, there is NO way you could possibly know this...I didn't list EVERY job I've ever had...
#2 What's wrong with the information I supplied in this thread?

Have you ever even filled out a change of beneficiary form for life insurance?

Absolutely! You want me to try and count them?

I am not slamming you, .

Really? Looks like a slam to me...and after all that's what's important how 'I' take it since it's directed at ME! AGAIN, What incorrect or mis-information did I give? ..NONE.

Another thing, are you going to try to ban me because I am voicing my opinion?

Ain't gonna be no 'try' to it son, you're the same little twirp that comes back every once in a while...Dan is it? One of your former screen names was "dhop1070" right...you're a prince of a guy you know that? ..I did a little research on you the last time, and found THE MANY sanctions brought by your state against your license, Illinois isn't it?...You might want to watch the 'glass house' thing..

My point is, if someone asks how to replace a bumper then make your lips move, other than that comment on strings that you are certified to comment on.

Come on big boy, you wanna' be a man, and call me out! Fine, post your name for the world to see...let the entire community check your 'record'...

I see many times that you voice your opinion in these strings and just because you are a moderator you think you are right.

Absolutely not, (and there called threads  )...I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong...

I have seen several times that your comments are totally off base.

Well this is the THREAD you chose to grace with your post...Where is your advise to this OP? Where is your critque of my post? What did I post that was "off base"? Nothing...

I thought this was America "freedom of speach"

Ok smart guy first of all it's spelled "SPEECH". Secondly...you need to re-read your constitution junior...freedom of speech doesn't extend to privately owned enternet sites... and as I recall you've been banned multiple times, for being a jerk, admitting to being a jerk, but you apparently don't care, because you continue to be a jerk, not just here, but on every site you participate on...you still cannot 'get it' can you? It's obvious that you must have a very very small, pitiful little life...amoung other things.

I just think it is idiotic of you to make comments in the life insurance forum

I think it's idiotic for a grown man, (well kind of), to slime/troll around site(s), making a total moron out of himself....seriously..Do your Mom and Dad know you are playing on the computer?..get a job, get a hobby, get a girlfriend, something!
