If the insurance company has nothing from you changing the ownership, you'll have recourse. Otherwise, you will be out of luck.

It's easier than it sounds. It doesn't take phone calls or visits. It takes the filling out of one piece of paper that takes about 60 seconds.

Sure Expert :) But there are cases where the insurance companies are not as efficient as we want them to be. I'm only hoping for the best and not expecting too much :)

I've been doing this for 20 years and I've never experienced it taking any longer than this to change a beneficiary.

When I divorced, I changed my Beneficiary from my EX to my best friend. It took a few seconds to chnge the paperwork....no longer than that.

First thing is that, you can't make changes in her policy if you try to so it insurance company will ask you for that. You need to told about that to her. You can request her to cancel this policy with you because you have devoted from more time.
I hope she will agree & help you to do it.

Thanks.

sweetmissyj,

If you were the original owner of the policy and it was changed without your consent, then you must get the documents and the recorded information from the insurance company. This will prove that it was changed without your approval. You then have to seek an attorney that can assist you to move forward.

Good Luck.
