Hi, I was divorced in the state of NC. I have been divorced for about 6 years and recently found out that my ex has life insurance policy on me from when we were married. Although he was the owner of the policies because they were deducted from his pay as an allotment when in the military. He cancelled his insurance policy on himself naming me a bene, although, I had / have children in the home dependant on child support payments that cease upon his death. As it stands he & his new wife get a pretty chunk of change when I die. Can I do something to find it and cancel? He has all the information as far as company and policy numbers that he will not give me & states proudly that they are set when I die. I do not want them to benefit from my death, it should go to my children who are now growing up and in high school.
Shouldn't there be a data base that policies on me be registered or show up?Sorry.... this is upsetting.. heck he could bump me off for the money.... it has been done, you read about it every year... and.... for much less then what they is going to get for my death. Although I don't "think" he would do it, money does make people do weird stuff

You can't cancel it because you are not the owner. Even if you had all of the information, there is nothing that you can do about it. All that you can do is have the last laugh by making sure not to die.
