My foreign spouse and i have applied for a finance visa and it is currently pending. Can i purchase life insurance on my finance and her two children ages 13 and 14. I am in the military and affraid that any think can happen to me at any time leaving my future family in financial dispair and hardship. Bascially, i just want to take care of my future family anyway possible until my marriage is made legal.

LORI..the OP is saying "they are not family members yet." Even with non-Military Life Insurance, do they HAVE to be family members for the OP to get Life Insurance for them? I didn't think so, but, I don't know. I thought you could cover anyone you want to.

No, you can't cover anyone you want to - it comes down to whether the OP is determined to have insurable interest in the insured. (Otherwise, I might spend the next few minutes buying life policies on Lindsay Lohan, Amy Winehouse and Abe Vigoda.) There would have to be a marriage before insurable interest was definitely determined - a proposal of marriage is an undocumented promise, not a legally binding contract. Nevertheless, OP's agent could try submitting a cover letter with the application to a US insurer explaining the family situation (and sometimes that works). Depending on how conservative the insurer is in underwriting, they may be more or less willing to consider the the grey area that family relationships and dependency are often in these days.

Oh..I see what your saying. Well..makes sense. I wouldn't want to Insure someone I don't care for, obviously. Or,..just some 'average Joe' off the street, I mean. Just being funny here..) TWITCH...Abe Vigoda was in MY day!!..LOL
