My father died several years ago and my mother passed away last week. We are trying to locate any insurance policies they may have held. Any sugesstions as to where I begin.

Steven? I see why you are concerned( being in the insurance field) Hey I had lady luck on my side I guess?
As a matter of privacy, perhaps they shouldnt have told me. But on the other hand, i am the only living relative. And the daughter. Why not?
Absolutely got the same place. Philadelphia regional office. They also told me that this(couple) had sent in their claim, and did NOT have the right documentation on my father.
They couldnt get their hands on the death certificate with the cause of death.
But you guys have to understand the VA. They are a huge bureau. They dont function correctly. I could tell you alot about the VA. Things that would make your head spin. They do exactly what they want to do.
The fellow i talked to was very nice. He asked me if i wanted to contest it. I said yes. The people are actually very nice down there.
I have been bantering back and forth with the VA on laws, interpretations of the laws for a long long time.
They even sent me a copy of the beneficiary change form. Thats how i got it and saw the different handwriting on it. Easy.
Are you surprised I got the info? lucky lucky me. Sometimes i wished i had never found out! LOL
