Do the life insurers charge more from people who smoke cigars? Is there something called a smokers' rate?

It is about a $20 difference a month. That is on a larger policy if you want 3k then its a $3 difference.

Yep there is a difference here.. See it in almost every policy. Can't say that I blame them since it is a higher risk.

Yes, most life insurance companies do charge more for cigar smokers, than they charge for non-smokers.
There is such a thing as a smokers rate.
The rates charged smokers depend on many factors including what you smoke, how often you smoke, and how long you have smoked.
Life insurance companies also take other factors into consideration including your age, gender, height/weight ratio, your health, your family's health history, your occupation, your hobbies, and the type of policy, the amount of coverage, etc.
Some insurance companies specialize in insuring smokers, so they may offer more competitive quotes for coverage.

I am glad to see the industry makes thing fair for a smoker to get insured. I think we are all judged on alot more things than that as Hadley said. Being over weight I imagine would have to weigh in there pretty good and even past medical problems.
