TATA AIG is operating their business mainly in INDIA, So as far as policy is concerned it is not very clear that what type of insurance policy you are seeking. You have mentioned 5-10 year policy term, i suppose that is policy maturity period what you are trying to refer here.
You have plenty of options such as term insurance (where there is no saving part)
also you do have ULIP's, (but the stock market risk is involved) if you are ready to take that risk then this could be a good option as hhere lock in period is only 3 yrs.
Also endowment policy will also help you as this will be a safe fix guaranteed additions to your policy with the (lower interest rate ) low or no risk.

May be you have to consult an insurance agent who deals with Tata-AIG plans. AIG is experiencing a difficult time here. I dunno where you are presently located and how hard its hit by the ongoing financial crisis, but I'd request you to be careful in getting into business with AIG. Best of luck!!
