Home Insurance Check

I found I had a slab leak and opened a claim. The adjuster later contacted me and told me that because there was no visible damage, there was no claim. She talked to the plumber and asked what would be the cost to open up the floor. She said she would send me a check for that amount. The check was made out to me and my wife only. We found another plumber who did the reroute for less. What do I do with the extra money? Return it to the insurance company??

Just send it to Lori. She'll know what to do with it.

The adjuster has talked to the plumber and agreed to pay you this amount. So, I don't think you'd need to pay it back!
