2 party mortgage co check????

Hello All!

We recently had a washing machine overflow. It damaged most of our pergo floors, and baseboards. The Am Fam guy gave us a 2 party check made out to us and our loan company. WTH? Is this discrimination?

Ok, first off there is no discrimination...your mortgage company owns your home...ALL carriers HAVE to protect the mortgage company and/or lein holder...I'm betting they also gave you the option of issueing the draft to you and a contractor right?

Call your mortgage company see what their process is for endorcement.

All this talk about washing machines leaking is making me nervous. I think I will get mine inspected soon.

To be honest the only 'leaking' wash machine claims I've ever worked (probably oh 40 or so in the ten year period I worked HO claims)...every single one of them was caused by one of two reasons...either the tank over filled, or the hose in the back that takes the water out of the tub came undone...

How exactly can a washing machine over fill. Aren't those things set for an exact amount of water depending on what setting you pick? I guess maybe if you packed it so full that the water did not have anywhere to go, but then the clothes wouldn't wash even if the water stayed in. :?:

I forget what that 'part' is called, I want to say 'water level sensor' maybe...at any rate if that part fails, the water just keeps on a coming into the machine, the 'shut off' stops working and allows this...I just can't remember what it's called. But on the 'overflow' claims I've had this is the part that failed, and allowed the water to just go everywhere...and since there is no well to run dry ( ) it just kept coming until discovered...

Never thought of a sensor. I just thought they worked by magic. I'll I know is I took mine apart to replace the dog ears (is that what those are called?) and a 15 minute job turned into a 3 hour tour when I couldn't get it back together.

   Husband and I had a similar experience, attempts to get to the 'belt' for the dryer...we spent a sold three hours, THEN called the repair guy who finished the job is less than fifteen minutes...

It was nothing a rubber mallet couldn't fix.
