Does my Employer need to pay for my doctor bills

my employer took my insurance money because I was lied off did not pay for the premium and went bankrupt. Does he have to pay my doctor bills because I lost my insurance?

Do I have any recourse?

you are not pay for premium regularly so your insurence policy is closed .so any insurance company not pay your doctor bill.

Yes indeed if you have not paid your premium and your insurance policy does not exist then in that case you employer is not liable to pay for your health and medical bills.

If the employer went bankrupt then they probably cancelled the group health plan. If they cancelled the health plan than cobra is not available.
