Roofing contract

My husband and I filed a claim on our roof. The roofing company came and provided us with a contract to sign that included a set amount of squares and the decking. This balanced out to us being out of pocket 1250.00 after insurance ($1000.00 deductable & $250 for a small section of guttering). However, the insurance did not include the decking (because it wasn't visible) so after the fact the roofing company submitted a bill to the insurance company for the decking and 6 additional squares.

My question is..Are we required to pay the roofing company the "extra" money when we have a signed contract for a fixed price?

If you have a contract for a fixed price repair, unless you change the scope of work to be performed (a "change order" is executed between you and the contractor), the contractor is stuck with his fixed price. Any attempt to charge you more money, failure to complete the work, or lien on your property will be overturned by a court.
