My friend's house is sinking. Will it be covered by her homeowners insurance? Please advice.

It depends on the state where your friend resides.
Homeowners insurance policies have its own earth movement exclusions, except in Texas, where all policies are drafted by the state.
If your friend doesn't have a rider providing coverage for earth movements, it's unlikely that she'll be covered by her homeowners insurance.

Hi,
Homeowners insurance rarely covers earth movements such as a sinking house. Other than this reason, if sinking is caused due to some burst in pipeline or due to some third party, then this may be covered by some policies.
