I'm about to remodel my house, and am thinking of going for EIFS. How will that influence my existing home insurance policy?

It won't. It's just insulation. If it gets damaged, it will be replaced in accordance with your policy provisions. You will need to notify your insurance company that you have made the change, but it is unlikely to change your premium.

I have heard that fire insurance coverage is denied for EIFS. Or that the insurer may increase the rate, as it's not adequately fire resistant!
