I’ve a question. Actually, I’m a bit nervous. I’ve just moved into a house as a renter. My landlord lives in the adjacent room and it has no locking system from my end. I work at night so the house remains empty for the whole night. I’m a bit doubtful about the landlord. Should I get renters insurance? Would it help if any of my belongings gets stolen?

Renters insurance covers items if they are stolen. But what it also gives you is liability insurance. If you accidentally hurt someone or their property it can provide coverage for this. It's also not very expensive. What if you are cooking something and accidentally burn the place down. DO you have $30,000 to repair the damage?
