I recently purchased a home in CA and purchased a home insurance from Farmers. I have thoroughly checked the papers but nowhere is written that the coverage includes wildfire. So my question is do wildfires usually come under basic homeowners insurance?

Yes, it's coverage for fire. You may also want to look for exclusions.

Your homeowners policy ofcourse covers damage due to wildfire. So if your home has been completely destroyed by a fire or if the roof has been burned, your insurance company will pay to rebuild your home or replace the rooftop.Insurance company will also pay if other parts of your house will be destroyed due to flames of fire.
