Insurance Claim Question

I filed an insurance claim on our roof over 8 years ago for hail and wind damage. I personally did not go on the roof, however was told it was not that bad of damage by the hail, however some shingles that were cracked should and were replaced.

Fast forward, so now after extreme heavy winds (60 mph average) about 30 shingles have torn off and blew away with many, many more loose. Is it appropriate to consider filing a new claim?

Not only is it appropriate, it would be required. As it is a new claim.

Yes, this would be a new claim. It most likely does not have to deal with the other claim but they may ask to see proof that the repairs from the last claim were completed.
I would recommend that you have a qualified expert of your own evaluate the entire roof. If the winds were strong enough to tear off some shingles there is a good chance that others were affected as well and the loss may be more significant than it appears.

Yes, you should definitely claim for it if it is covered by your insurance policy. It can help you to recover your loss.

I would recommend you file a new claim. Based on the claim history, you may need to share the information in regards to the prior claim and repairs that were made.
