More and more employers are discontinuing group insurance benefits, especially group health insurance.

If your present employer stopped your group health insurance program, would you seek other employment?

No. I currently have an HSA, which is the "next generation" of health insurance.

I think the decision will depend upon the unique scenario faced by the individual. If he/she can manage better health coverage in the new employment, then he/she may consider switching the employer. However, the health coverage offered by the employers may not meet your individual requirements. Hence, for customized benefits purchasing the private health plan may offer a solution.

Though HSA can provide an alternative way to pay for your health expenses, but I feel that there should be a way to stop the employers from disposing-off the group health coverage. The main reason that people enroll for the group health plan that neither they can pay the expenses of their own nor they can purchase private health plans form the market.
