I live in Lake Worth, Florida and need to find a lower insurance rate. I am looking to upgrade my house and make it more protected against storms but before I spend the money, does anyone know where I can find a list of features or structures that will help me lower my rate? If you know of a website that has this information and can share it with me, I would appreciate it.

I would advise you to take a look at the Resource Center at Windmitigation.com. They break up wind resistant features into different categories, and list the specific sites that contain the appropriate info. You should be able to find what you're looking for there.
If you can find an inspector in your area, you should also be able to get a free quote from him/her.

Thanks Billy for the info. I checked the Windmitigation.com website and was able to find a qualified inspector in my area. I contacted the inspector and he was extremely knowledgeable about how much I could save by having an inspection. Based on what the inspector told me, I am definitely going to be scheduling an inspection as soon as possible!

If you could share more about the way the inspector has guided you, it might help a lot of other visitors over here. Also, you may share any specific knowledge that you may have gained during the course of the conversation.
