Actually almost ALL insurance companies will rates rates if an existing insured receives a speeding ticket... it does not matter if it _resulted_ in a citation. If a person was speeding, they are more likely to _have_ an accident (accidents are commonly caused by high rated of speed). A policy is rated based on the _exposure/risk_. If a person is caught speeding once, chances are they will be speeding again.

Geraldine Perone there are some services that can help you out get rid of the ticket. Look up on Google. I have a friend of mine with two speeding tickets. They person that he found files claims against the tickets. The fight the tickets for 2-3 years until they finally get dismissed. Insurance stays the same. He paid $200 per ticket and all he had to do was to mail them the tickets and the court summons.

Our daughter (while in college), had WAY too many speeding tickets, got to where she was loosing points on her license. She (three times I think), got an attorney, paid him about 100.00 each time and got the tickets reduced to 'defective vehicle' which caused no increase nor points on her (MO) license.
P.S. NO, Mama Lori was not happy...

Hmm for a guy I would understand but you see a lot less speeding if the driver is a girl. But getting the tickets reduced or stuck in the court is the way to go. And of course, driving slowe would be a good thing also :D

There was a time I would've agreed with that statement (like when I was a teenager so MANY MANY years ago), but honestly not so now. You pay attention when driving. (to me), Boys, are more inclined to show off some, race a little, etc. These girls, while driving like bats from hell, (they are always late) are also putting on makeup, looking in the mirror, waving, and looking for friends to see them, and just plain fast and reckless. Makes me a nervous wreck...

Good morning Lori! :D
Yes, I dont know how the heck they drive and put make-up thats just plain acrobatics to me. I have to admit that I almost always drive above the limit but I drive to work at 5 am and there 2-3 cars on the road. Besides that I have a rule: if there is a car in front of you for every 10 mph you are driving with, you need two cars of free room between you and that car :D

That's a good rule of thumb ! I think, I've always heard one car length for every 10 mph. Another good rule, at a stop light stay back from vehicle in front of you so that you can see where their back tires touch the ground.

Lori- I agree- the girls are dangerous!! I have almost had several wrecks due to the -Waving and yelling at the boys in the next car- putting on mascara while driving- wonder they don't poke their eye out- and talking on their cell phone!
This one car had about 5 teenage girls, they were in the left lane, me in the right. They happened to spot some boys at McD's, to the right of me. They never looked-just screamed at the boys to get their attention, and whipped over my lane in front of me and turned into MCDs. --little idiots! Luckily I had been watching them and their car moving eratically, and wasn't too close!!
It pays to drive defensive!!..KAren

I know I wasn't kidding about that. I'd rather be next to a sixteen yr old boy than a cute (or thinks she is ! ) sixteen year old girl. They are just plain obnoxious! While driving too !
One of these days, and I'll bet soon, the insurance companies will have them rated as high as the boys!
