The cops were not calld that god now that i know what i know but what do i do now and can i do anything or am i screwed???

You call the other person's carrier and file a claim.
You also renew your policy so that you can legally drive your own vehicle.

How could you be screwed?
I understand that you might be the uninsured motorist right at that point of time..but how if you were not at fault, then I don't see any reason to worry about!

Hi danielle0802,
You also renew your policy so that you can legally drive your own vehicle.
Exactly thats what you need to do!
Try to explain the entire thing to your carrier this time, since I have this thought that they might just see this accident as an opportunity to draw a premium hike (especially when I don't know much about your driving record).

Looks to me like to dodged a big old bullet....as tcope said file the claim against the other drivers company, and they should handle your damage...and GET YOUR POLICY PAID....and don't let ''that'' part happen again.

If the police come asking you whether or not you got in an accident, you can't very well lie and say no (even though there were no witnesses). You got into an accident with no insurance, and unfortunately you're going to have to deal with the consequences.
You will still have to pay for the damage, but you need to find some insurance as soon as possible! You may have your license suspended depedning on what state you're in, and you may face the other guy claiming he has injuries.
The bottom line is that you made a mistake, and now you need to not only figure out how to deal with it...but make sure it doesn't happen again in the future. You may need to contact an attorney. Good luck, and feel free to contact us with any questions!

well, it is most unfortunate for your insurance to expire at that kind of timing. if you're uninsured that the time fo the accident, you may have to discuss with your policy dealer and the other party. most likely, you'll have to deal with the consequences. but since the other party was in the wrong, you may find yourself having to pay less.
i'd advise you to renew your insurance asap. i don't think it is as serious as chris made it out to be, but it is good to be prepared.
