I have heard that you can receive certain compensation from the state if you're temporarily out-of-work. But I don't know the details about it. If I can only manage to work part time for last six months, do I qualify for the benefits?

You should not have accepted employment you knew you could not perform.
Or were you intending to work just long enough to get unemployment so you didn't have to work in the future?

You may be eligible for unemployment insurance benefits if you had qualifying wages, were terminated by your employer from your employment for any reason other than gross misconduct, and are capable of working and actively seeking work.
Your state unemployment services agency will determine your qualifications.
Age discrimination is largely a "non-existent" issue in America following decimation of the law by Congress, mostly during the GW Bush presidency.
