I think it's a great move by the government to cover the population staying outside the health coverage net. This kind of initiative may help the community to beat the heat of rising health care cost.

This is an encouraging initiative by the state government. The Healthy Wisconsin program would mandate an insurance package for all who are presently out of the purview of the health care system.

However, it may at the same time increases the health care costs at large, further increasing the cost of insurance for the private policy holders. The government may need to find a way in between to balance both sides.

Too much of regulation is bound to distort any system and the same is happening with the state regulated health care system. The MacCarran-Ferguson Act has privileged the states to control their states health requirements. The market should be allowed to perform in its own accord.
