Many drivers of smaller automobiles may be smiling about their fuel cost savings, but their smiles may soon fade when they start to realize that the auto insurance industry is taking a share of the money that they aren''t paying for gasoline. Let it not be said that smaller automobiles don''t come with a cost trade off.

I've heard this before that some insurers have taken the initiative to encourage fuel preservation and therefore pay incentives in the form of discounts to drivers using environmental friendly fuel or drive lesser mileage.
It's really nice to know that its true.

Another incentive that some insurers give is pay as you drive discounts. This is an incentive that is given to drivers who drive less or drive occasionally. Lesser mileage attracts lower premium.

Isn't this like stealing?.....I mean taking something that's NOT yours. Taking gas money out of someone's pocket ( whether it's being used now or later, doesn't matter) and putting it away for themselves?

Wow, that's a loaded iuostqen. So much depends on many factors such as male or female, age, both of which you have already answered. Also your driving record, where you live, sometimes even your credit rating are considered in the cost of your policy.Another thing is whether you need full coverage or not. Generally if you have a loan on the car you will need full coverage whereas if the car is paid for and possibly older you may get by with liability. Most states require some medical insurance and uninsured motorist coverage as well.I found a site, there are many, where you can simply enter your zip code and they will provide free insurance quotes from a number of companies in your area. This way you quickly get several rates to compare without any obligation to buy.Hope this will be of help.Good luck!
