My brother died in an wreck. The insurance says funeral expense is 1000$. Is that all they will pay out in pip?

I'm so sorry about your brother...if this is what the limit in the policy is then yes, they may also pay some of his medical bills under pip as well, (ie ambulance, er etc)...did he have medpay or accidental death as well?

Yeah, I'd agree with Lori. The insurer may pay out the policy limit towards the funeral expenses and if its only $1, 000 then that is the maximum that you can receive.

In some states you may get only upto $1, 000 for the funeral expenses from PIP, if you haven't paid for higher limits. Check the policy document to see what you may expect to receive from the insurer.

Hey, has anyone noticed that one 'zero' is missing in the post made by the OP from what he has mentioned in the subject line?

I'm wondering whether this is a harmless 'typo' or am I missing something over here :)

Yea...I noticed that too, JEORGE. The Subject Line says $10,000, not $1000. JKSHORT......I want to say I'm sorry for your loss. ..our thoughts go out to you.
