Need a break from work so I thought I'd take a moment and introduce myself.....
I've been a Property and Casualty adjuster for about 15 years now. I started out working at USAA taking loss reports and handling simple automobile claims. Worked there for 5 years. From there I bounced around at many other insurance companies, mainly handling property damage and bodily injury auto claims.
Prior to my current job I worked for an independent adjusting company for about 2 years. There I probably leanred more in those 2 years then in all my prior years. Working for an independent is very interesting as you never know what your going to get from day to day. I really liked field investigation (I hate pushing paperwork). Handled mainly General Liability cases.
I lived in Florida for 25 years but visted Utah and fell in love with the area (Salt Lake City). I love the outdoors and don't think I'll ever be able to do everything this area has to offer. So about 6 months ago I moved and have loved it here every day. I currently work for a smaller insurance company that mainly writes in the west with it's sister company writing in the east and south. I currently handle auto and GL claim (they write mostly commercial policies).
My current position is great as I do come into the office each and every day but the company also expects field work to be done and pushes adjusters to get out of the office. This works perfectly for me as I can just get up and leave for a few hours if I don't feel like sitting around.
