I think some important points to remember is:
1. Stay on the subject that the post is talking about, it is important to the audience answering the question and for the poster of the question or comment. When you go off course it disrupts the entire thread, forcing those who are involved to have to search through it for relevant information.
2. Post information that is useful to the person answering the question, you can post by personal experience or oppinion.
3. Be respectful to the person asking the question or posting the comment, rudeness and ignorance towards other people on the forum will only cause headaches for all of us. It is all about respect, giving and recieving it.
4. There are guidelines and rules posted on the forum, you can find them at the top of the threads in the sticky section.
Welcome aboard, hope you participate and learn alot in the forums, I have. Goodluck and nice to have you here.

No problem, I really enjoy this forum and want it to be a respectful, fun but serious place to come for advice and guidance, but also a place to be open and friendly towards each other, respect and value each others oppinion and to open to suggestions and different trains of thought. Have a great day everybody.

Don't post just for the sake of posting, it won't get you anywhere. And promote discussion with your posts, that way, more people can get in on it.

Thank you for an excellent set of guidelines there, goodnatured! It's always good to be reminded of how to keep things on the straight and narrow for the whole community. It makes visiting a much more pleasant experience imho.
I can see you've been a great contributor around here too and I'd like to say thanks to you for that. :D

I think your point is good to about staying on subject, nothing worse than wanted and answer to something and you have to weed through a thread to find the items that actually apply to what you ask in the first place. I am fairly new here and am impressed by the quality of people here and the diversity.
Along with this diversity comes difference of oppinion, so I think the point of being respectful to one another is a very good point, sometimes on other forums I have seen some members get way out of hand, to the point where it has become disrespectful of someone's oppinion, I have opted not to comment at all. So when this happens it discourages others to participate in the discussion, result being, no real answers found, so if we all keep that in mind, that we don't have all the answers and that someone else may have something valuable to add, we should stay in good shape.
